Collection: Natural Dye Materials

Many things found in the natural environment will give color to fiber.  These include flowers, bark, wood, leaves, roots, bugs and dirt.  We try to grow several plants each summer that give color and also offer other items for sale as we come across them.  Many of these dye plants will require a mordant to fix the color to your fiber or yarn.  We do not carry mordants but several great companies do and you can find some that we like listed on our Links page.  These items do not include complete instructions as these are available in many books and in many places online.
