The Morning After

Laura has come and gone.  The people of Lake Charles and everyone in Cameron Parish in south Louisiana got hit hard with a category 4 hurricane with 11 feet of storm surge and winds of 140 mph.  My heart goes out to them.  It will take a long time to clean up the mess that Laura left. The last I heard Laura was smashing north of Shreveport still packing winds of 100 mph.

For us, Laura was a non-event.  We had a couple of passing squalls of rain yesterday totalling less than 1/2".  We had no wind to speak of so no debris to pick up this morning.  No downed power lines so we still have functioning air conditioning, TV and computers.  And water pump.  Everything is good here.
