Louet 8 Shaft Octado Computer Controlled Loom For Sale
I bought this loom back in May of 2016. It came in 5 flat boxes and I put it together. I loved the process. The instructions were clear and well illustrated. I love this loom. The advantage of this loom is that the computer to which it is attached controls the shafts. To change patterns you just need to change your commands in the program - no climbing underneath to change the tie-ups. I was in love. I wove a series of kitchen towels as well as linen bath towels.
Then in 2023 we sold our house and property out in the country and moved into town. I went from having a weaving studio with 1500 square feet to one room with 150 square feet. At the time I had four floor looms and the new house only has room for one. I sold the Tools of the Trade loom and the Schacht Standard floor loom easily. That left the big Louet loom and the Gilmore. I love the Gilmore. We have bonded and work well together. It's my magic wand and it chose me. We moved the Louet loom to Peggy's house so she could try it out. She also wove some wonderful kitchen towels on it but in the end decided she loves her Schacht Standard loom just a bit more than the Louet.
So, the Louet loom is for sale. It is eight shafts and has a weaving width of 43 1/3 inches. It is made of lacquered beech hardwood and has a high castle with a shelf and a built in raddle. It is 61" wide by 39" deep by 50" tall. The breast beam is 36.5" tall. The loom weighs about 120 pounds. It came with 1200 Texsolv heddles and a single stainless steel reed. Of course, that wasn't enough for me so I've added two more stainless steel reeds. All three reeds are included: a 10 dent, 12 dent and 15 dent.
Also included is the loom bench made by Walt Turpening. It's the perfect height for this very tall loom and Walt hand wove the seat. There is a lamp attached to one side of the castle, also included.
Because of the size of this loom we will not ship it. You must come and pick it up. It is here in Katy, Texas. Just let me know when you want to come and take a look at it.
