Getting Dive Bombed

Currently my hair is a lovely shade of purple.  What with the social distancing, I'm doing it myself.  I look forward to my next visit to the hairdresser's but for now I'm making do.

The hummingbirds have newly arrived for the spring.  We saw our first one a couple of weeks ago.  These two facts are related because my new purple hair is the exact color of the new salvia mystic spires recently planted in my front garden.

Can you see where I'm going with this?  Yes.  I was dive bombed by a hummingbird who had been feeding voraciously on the pretty purple flowers as I sat on my front porch having coffee with my husband.  As you might expect, it scared the daylights out of me and probably shook up the little bird, too.

Then just a couple of days ago it happened again.  This time I was walking around the perimeter of our property while I was feeding the livestock.  I was in the deep shade between my backyard and the barn and goat pens.  I didn't see the little darter this time but I heard him clearly.  Not quite as scary the second time.
