There are lots of kinds and colors of cotton to be spun. Natural brown and green and red, long staple pima, short staple upland and very short staple lint are all available to spinners. One of the most fun is spinning cotton that is made of recycled blue jeans.
We had a pound or two of blue jean cotton last year but sold out pretty quickly. We've had several requests for more and I was surprised to discover that it's not easy to find. After checking all the sources here in the States, we had to order it from England.
The cost of the fiber plus the expense of shipping means our price won't be as low as we would like. These 100 gram bags are $10 each. We have ten of the bags and will be able to order more if they are popular with our customers.
