Flax grows naturally to a fiber length of up to 36". When the uncut fibers are processed and wrapped into a twist it is called a strick. I love spinning from the strick but it is totally different from spinning anything else. In order to create flax roving or top, which many people find easier to spin, the flax fibers must be cut to a shorter length. This flax has been cut to a length of about 16". This is lovely to spin.
