Wensleydale is an old sheep breed from North Yorkshire, England. You would know it if you saw one.  They are large heavy sheep with heavy fleeces that hang in loose ringlets to the ground.  These sheep have been traditionally bred to smaller breeds to add size to the animal and fiber length to the fleeces.  We love our wool from CVM/Wensleydale crosses!  This yarn is not as soft as Merino but it is strong and would make a wonderfully warm outer garment.
