Saris are commonly worn in many parts of India so silk fabric production is big business there. As in any large fabric business, there are parts of the cloth that don't make it all the way into the final product. All those scraps are shredded up and either used as is or spun into yarn. We have used both preparations with delight. We spun this yarn from lumps of silk shreds.
